The Class of 2k12 is a collaboration of Middle Grade and Young Adult authors whose first novels will debut next year.  They write in a wide range of genres – dystopian, paranormal, contemporary, historical, Steampunk, fantasy and verse, amongst others!  They work in concert to promote their books and reading, and will have activities, contests and much more information on their website, www.classof2k12.com, in coming months.

You can find them on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ClassOf2k12 and Twitter:  http://twitter.com/#!/theclassof2k12

AND the Class of 2k12 is offering a swag bag to one lucky winner because they’re cool like that. It consists of a limited edition tote decorated with their logo, which will contain book marks and buttons from their Winter 2012 debuts. To enter, leave a comment!

I think I’ll take “don’t give up” as the best lesson. The more people say it, the more we can believe it. It’s hard when you have to defend why you’re taking all this time writing…

  38. DebraDriza on Thursday 18, 2011

Lisa–HA! Believe it or not, “don’t give up” got edited out of my clip. Which just left you with…sugar.

    *hides*

Srsly, tho–I think that’s the best advice ever. In fact, I’ll even repeat it here:

    DON’T. GIVE. UP.

Whatever you do, keep on writing. We can’t give you the surefire way to get published, but we can say–the surefire way NOT to get published is to give up trying.

  39. AmAten on Thursday 18, 2011
