Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, Sarah! And for being here at the conference and sharing your expertise with us. And for having a drawing for a free critique! I’m wishing you the best, Ev
Wow, that was terrific!! Thanks so much!
Wow, what a great little class on picture books! Everything you really need to know in an 11-minute video. Thanks, and good job!
Thanks for the info!
Thank you, Sarah. I especially liked your suggestion to make the thumbnail sketches. Not being an illustrator, I’ve done the dummy’s, but never added the illustrations. What a great way to see the holes!
Thanks much!
So awesome to see a lot of PB specific stuff. Thank you so much, Sarah! And I’d love to win a critique
Thanks so much, Sarah, for this very informative video. I really enjoyed seeing the illustration side of the pb making, since I don’t draw. Congratulations on your new book! I can’t wait to see it.

Thank you, Sarah! What a wonderful session on picture books, I really enjoyed both videos! My current WIP is an MG set in 17 century Scotland and even though I am not an artist by any means, I have been using a storyboard in order to make sure that my story flows smoothly.
Thanks you!
I LOVE PB! No matter what the market, I still love them!
Thanks so much for the helpful insight. I don’t write many PB but the ones I do write, I love so dearly. It’d be wonderful to polish them to a publishable state.
Oooh. I hope I’m not too late to go in with a chance on the critique. Thank-you Sarah & writeoncon.
Great vlog and so informative. Thanks for sharing your process with us!!
Such wonderful information! And thanks for the template!
Loved the template for the dummy. I have often determined where page breaks might be, but not actually made the thumbnails. I can see how it would be helpful. Thanks for the idea.
Thanks for doing this! It made me really wish I could illustrate my own because it would be so fun to do the whole process.
Your video presentations are as professional as they are helpful — filled with specific examples and tips. Great addition to this conference!
Thank you so much for your two vlogs! They helped me look at character and plot in a different way
Thank you so much, that was great. I really did learn so much and the storyboard template will be v. helpful.
Thanks for an informative session! And so grateful for your sharing the thumbnail template. THANKS!
That was a fabulous presentation. I love your approach, starting with the character and then deriving the conflict from that. Super, super advice. And thanks for offering the critique!
Great presentation, Sarah! Congratulations on your book coming out next year.
Thanks for the time and effort you have donated to WOC.
Thank you!
Hi Sarah,
Anyway, I’ve been somewhat at a loss as to how to proceed, but your free storyboard is a great tool. Don’t know how much success I’ll have, but I’m sure I’ll have plenty of fun. Thanks again.
Wow, this is good stuff. I finished a PB a few months back, and decided to try my hand at illustrating it. Art was going to be my major, back in the day.
Thank you, Sarah!
Thanks Sarah!
